Coach Scott Update Monday 2/28/2011

Good afternoon,

To start off this week, I am working on a tentative schedule that gets every group into the gym and allows me to continuing planning and strategizing for our own building.

I need to accomplish so many things this week and with our travel plans to Houston, Texas in there as well – the clock is ticking…

Monday:

4:00 ~ 5:00pm Recreational Class – any age to start with

4:00 ~ 6:00pm All lower-level Team athletes

6:00 ~ 8:00pm All upper-level Team athletes

All training and hours will be inside the Desert Storm Building #8

Tuesday:

Desert Storm runs a “Special Needs” group / class in building #8 from 6:30 ~ 8:00pm and during that time they need the whole gym.

So, for now the only option on Tuesday is from 4:00 ~ 6:30pm

4:00 ~ 5:00pm Recreational Class

4:30 ~ 6:30pm Training Team

Wednesday:

4:00 ~ 5:00pm babies Recreational class ages 2 ~ 4yrs old.

5:00 ~ 6:00pm Recreational class ages 5+

5:00 ~ 8:00pm Team Training at Desert Storm + ½ run to Aspire (7:30 ~ 9:30?)

Thursday:

4:00 ~ 5:00pm Recreational Class TDB (NOT starting this week!)

5:00 ~ 6:00pm Recreational Class TDB (NOT starting this week!)

6:00 ~ 8:00pm Training Team

Friday:

4:00 ~ 5:00pm Recreational Class

5:00 ~ 8:00pm Team Training at Desert Storm+ ½ runs to Aspire (6:30 ~ 8:30?)

Saturday:

9:00 ~ 10:00am Recreational Class

10:00 ~ 12:00pm JumpStart Team Training

Once we get up and running I will do several hours of “make-up” time for both Team & JumpStart!

Overall this is very similar to what we used to be running – as we work through this first week or two, please be patient and flexible.

There are several wonderful things happening, but I must dot every “i” and cross every “t” before I start making announcements…

For this first week our “trial week” please bring water bottles and remember we are sharing a bathroom w/ the Main Desert Storm Building. We will rotate in groups to handle all of this – we will use a “buddy system” for sure! Also, if you are planning to stay and watch – please bring a chair or something to sit on – at this point we don’t even have chairs set up.

I grew up reading this and I used this at Flames Gymnastics for years:

“Champions risk what others Dare not: DREAM what others think impossible: DO what others say can’t be done.” Mark Twain

We are all healthy, happy, and one STRONG Family!

Coach Scott Weekly Update

Hi everyone,

First off let me say a big THANK YOU to all of you! Your emails, texts, and phone calls have being wonderful. You are all so wonderful and understanding; I again am sorry about this waste of time and delay in our training. I am forwarding a lot of your kind words to Mikey, Hillary, & Sharon so they can feel your support and love.

THANK YOU!!!

Second I would like to thank several gymnastics clubs / T&T clubs for their support and reaching out when I needed it most. Scottsdale Gymnastics, Aspire, Oasis, Desert Devils, & Ultimate Gymnastics have all offered time & space for us to train and prepare for up coming meets. I have personal friends at all of these clubs and have spent a better part of my adult professional life in and around these people. I thank you! Jon & Rob from Aspire both took time to call and check in – again thanks!

Wednesday night meeting – again thank you…I am excited to see the enthusiasm, support, smiling faces, and happy kids & parents to get back to training. Exhausted and with tired eyes, I watch athletes running around and playing with laughter in their voices; it all sort of felt all rightJ

Friday 2/25 training:

5:30pm at Desert Storm blding 8 – anyone and everyone that is on Training Team and upJ

6:00pm those that want to train at Aspire need to start driving. (We WILL need help w/ carpooling)

We have been invited to train at Aspire from 6:30 ~ 8:30/9:00pm

6:00 ~ 8:00pm at Desert Storm on the above ground tramp for those that want to stay.

Saturday – no training this week – Both owners of Desert Storm will be out of town.

I am working on next week's schedule – I will post this by tomorrow J

I am down but not out and will return stronger and more prepared then I was in the past. This has been overwhelming and something that I hoped would never experience again – I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger right???

It can only get better from here,

I will be in touch,

Sincerely,

Coach Scott

Hi All,

Please join some of the GREATEST COACHES speak of new opportunities available to any of us who would like to stay and train together with the best to be the best.

There will be on "Open House" at Desert Storm Elite Cheer tomorrow, Wednesday, at 5:00 ~ 6:00 pmJ
